WE’RE BUILDING OUR SUBURBAN TEAM WITH A NATURAL NEGOTIATOR

Posted by carlson on August 12, 2019 in New Hire/Promotion

We’re excited to introduce Alec Sievers, our newest associate. A born salesman, Alec has been preparing to make deals his whole life — his family owns Poquet Auto Sales and he’s had a chance to watch experts in action. He’ll be focused on office space in suburban areas, building expertise to help clients find space in this sought-after market.

Alec grew up in the Twin Cities suburb of Eden Prairie, went to Eden Prairie High School, and graduated from Augsburg University in Minneapolis with a bachelor of business administration degree. Most recently, he worked at Social Indoor to generate business and establish relationships with clients.

When he’s not working, he loves to travel, with a special focus on appreciating architecture and homes in other parts of the world. And as a native Minnesotan, golfing and boating are in his skill set. Fun fact: Alec has an identical twin brother who also lives in the Twin Cities.

“Alec brings a lot of energy to the team, as well as a natural ability to negotiate,” said Ted Carlson. “As Carlson Partners continues to grow, we’re excited to bring new talent like Alec’s on board.”

OUR NEWEST TEAM MEMBER REALLY BRINGS THE HEAT

We can’t wait for you to talk with our new associate Lucas Long. “Lucas is a great communicator who is able to make connections with just about anyone he meets,” said Tim Olsen. “We are excited for him to join our growing team. Lucas joins us as an associate and will be an integral part of our growing company.”

Lucas has been a baseball player ever since he was big enough to pick up a bat, and recently completed his professional career with the Baltimore Orioles Organization. He’s eager to apply his ability to stay cool under pressure to negotiating commercial real estate deals. If it seems like Lucas is a natural, it may be because his father is also in real estate, and Lucas himself acquired his first Real Estate investment in 2015.

Lucas grew up in Minnesota and went to the Academy of Holy Angels in Richfield, and attended both the University of Arizona (on a baseball scholarship where he helped win the 2012 national championship) and the University of San Diego.

Like many of our team, he loves the outdoors and takes the chance to golf and spend time fishing when he can. He joins our growing contingent of dog-owners at Carlson Partners, with his puppy Jimmy joining the pack. Lucas lives in Richfield, and currently is busy planning a November wedding with fiancée Libby Jacoby.

CARLSON PARTNERS WELCOMES NEW HIRE WITH DEEP MARKET KNOWLEDGE

Posted by carlson on February 25, 2019 in New Hire/Promotion

We’re excited to welcome a new member to our growing team. Tim Tysk is joining Carlson Partners as an associate specializing in office and industrial real estate.

Tim brings a data-driven understanding of the commercial real estate market to Carlson Partners. As a researcher at CRBE he delved into current market information, gathering data on properties, transactions, tenants and new developments in order to develop insights into market conditions.

“We’re devoted to bringing truly strategic consultation to our clients. As Carlson Partners grows, expertise such as Tim’s will be valuable in helping us understand the trends in the Twin Cites commercial real estate market. The right information at the right time will help us create the best solutions,” said Ted Carlson.

When Tim isn’t crunching numbers or making deals, he’s playing softball, training for power lifting, or hanging out with his German shepherd mix rescue pup. “Tim’s energy and enthusiasm will be a real asset to the team,” said Carlson.

CARLSON PARTNERS WELCOMES A HIRE WITH A FOCUS ON DOWNTOWN MINNEAPOLIS

Posted by carlson on February 7, 2019 in New Hire/Promotion

We’re expanding our team to meet the growing demand for expertise in downtown Minneapolis real estate. Adam Barrett is joining Carlson Partners as a director, and brings with him considerable experience and a passion for helping companies find spaces that meet more than just square footage requirements. He’s tapped into the rapidly changing dynamics of the downtown market, and he knows how to find a “home” that fits your company’s culture.

Early in his career, Adam helped launch the concept of high-end, full-service packages for downtown Minneapolis tenants, incorporating conference centers, fitness centers, on-site medical clinics, and more into corporate spaces. Seven years in IT staffing and consulting have given him even more insight into the importance of well-defined corporate culture for successful teams. He’s eager to bring his expertise back to the commercial real estate world, and to work with clients to find spaces that support and enrich their companies’ cultures.

“Adam brings a passion for the community to his work with real estate clients. He helps companies look beyond the brick-and-mortar aspects of a lease to the impact a space will have on the people who work there,” said Ted Carlson. “We’re excited to bring Adam on board to work closely with clients to define and find solutions that will meet their unique needs.”

Adam is a lifelong Minneapolis resident and graduate of Gustavus Adolphus with connections to communities across the Twin Cities. He’s excited to work in downtown Minneapolis, but it’s Lake Harriet that is his “place of zen.” He makes the most of this urban oasis, running, kayaking, swimming, and enjoying popcorn as only the Lake Harriet bandshell snack bar can make it.

Strategic Alliance Adds Experience and Clients to Tenant-Focused Carlson Commercial

MINNEAPOLIS, MN (MARCH 3, 2015) – Carlson Commercial, an Eagan-based commercial real estate firm has completed its merger with Gannett Peak Partners of Edina. Philip J. Kluesner, who founded Gannett in 2004 and is a respected 30-year veteran of the Twin Cities’ commercial real estate scene, will join Carlson as senior vice president. Gannett’s clients, who include Behavior Health Services, Crane Worldwide Logistics and Robert W. Baird, will now be served under the Carlson Commercial name.

Ted Carlson, founder and president of Carlson Commercial, says the addition of Kluesner – the firm’s second significant hire of 2015 – adds extraordinary depth to the firm’s tenant-focused business model.

“Phil is a seasoned commercial real estate expert, and we’re excited to add him to our team. His singular focus on aggressively representing tenant interests aligns perfectly with what our clients want.” Kluesner, 54, said merging with like-minded Carlson Commercial was a natural next step for him and his clients. It will allow him to navigate larger and more complex real estate transactions with skilled team support.

During his near 30-year career in commercial real estate, Kluesner has represented more than 500 businesses in transactions totaling over one million square feet. Prior to starting his own firm, he climbed the ranks at Duke Realty Corporation, R. L. Johnson Company, and Colliers International (formerly Welsh). Strategic Addition Will Help Tenants Solve Retail Needs

Carlson Commercial, an Eagan-based commercial real estate firm, has hired retail expert Amy Carlson as a principal.
